As part of international lecturers organized by Radom Academy of Economics, on 4th April,. 2013 we were honoured to host the Ambassador of Palestine, his Excellency Azmi Al-Daqqa that gave an interesting lecture on ‘Palestine – past, present, future’. Economic, political, social, and religious aspects were discussed during the lecture.
Difficult political relations between Palestinian and Israeli people were highlighted in the lecture. His Excellency stressed that the conflict between two parties does not relate to religion but to the division of the Palestinian land. The Ambassador also added that surprisingly, contrary to what media shows, the inhabitants of Palestine maintain friendly relations even though they profess different religions. His Excellency also underlined that the inhabitants of Palestine form one nation and that is why only dialogue is the most effective way of solving any disputes.
Diplomatic relations between Palestine and Poland were the following discussed aspect of the lecture. Both Palestinian and Polish people visit each other’s countries either as tourists or in order to pursue an educational path. Therefore maintaining positive relations between two countries is vital. His Excellency expressed his deep enthusiasm when it comes to expanding Polis-Palestinian cooperation in the future.
The lecture ended up with an open discussion during which both the students and the people of Radom province could ask the questions to his Excellency.
