A PHOTO EXHIBITION - FOTO ODLOT
The exhibition of the unconventional photography will be hosted by Radom Academy of Economics from 9th until 23rd December 2009. The exhibition will display works awarded in the XII International Unconventional Photography Contest.

The photography contest was organised for the twelfth time by the Voivodship Community Centre in Rzeszów (Wojewódzki Dom Kultury w Rzeszowie), International Federation of Photographic Art (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique), Photo Club of the Republic of Poland and Foundation „Photography for Future”. The exhibition is hosted for the first time in Radom thanks to Radom Academy of Economics. The vernissage takes place on 9th December at 5 pm at the Caffe Gallery at Radom Academy of Economics, Traugutta 61a.

The name of the contest (Odlot - literally „Freaking Out”, „High”) refers to a slang expression describing a state of mind distancing the observer from reality, social conventions, norms and patterns of behaviour.

This year 893 photos of 217 photographers from 35 countries entered the contest. Over 80 awarded and distinguished works can be seen at the exhibition at Radom Academy of Economics.

The work titled „ I'm looking for a spring”(Szukam Źródła) by Wacław Padowski, which was awarded with a gold medal of the International Federation of Photographic Art, deserves particular attention. „Thanks to the tools of digital photography and technical possibilities of graphic software, the author portrayed the way of a child to the clean spring among phantoms and angels, heavenly landscapes and cloudy thunders. The symbolic overtone of this composition is even stronger as the quest is done by a small boy who goes through the iron gate alone a minute before midnight.
It is as if the author reminded us that the time for finding our ways on earth was running out...” says Dr Grażyna Stojak, an art historian.
