The ceremony has started with Gaude Mater Polonia, a solemn medieval Polish anthem, and it was followed by the Rector’s opening. In her speech, assoc. prof. Elżbieta Kielska has highlighted all the successes and achievements of Radom Academy of Economics that make our academy stand out both in a local and an international educational market.
These are, for instance, new courses added to our educational offer such as Business in Law and Psychology (first-cycle studies) and Internal Security (second-cycle studies). Another mentioned advantage was constantly progressing offer of postgraduate studies.
After that, the Chancellor, assoc. prof. Gerard Paweł Maj pointed out the most important facts distinguishing Radom Academy of Economics among other schools of higher education in Radom reminiscing all attainments of the academy. Moreover, the Chancellor has awarded the most distinguished students with congratulatory letters.
The Dean of the Faculty of Strategic and Technical Studies Mr. Paweł Kowalski, Ph.D., has officially welcomed a group of 300 international students, the half of which came to our academy as part of the international exchange programme Erasmus.
Then the ceremony was followed by a matriculation, the first year students have made an official vow and have received students’ books.
Prof. Grzegorz W. Kołodko’ lecture was one of the most important parts of the opening ceremony. The lecture that drew everyone’s attention and arose curiosity was given on the topic referred to “A quarter of transformation – a success or failure?”
The ceremony was also filled with the speeches coming from the other deans, the founders of Radom Academy of Economics as well as students who at the end listened to Gaudeamus Igitur.
