What role does play the light? Is film made similarly to the picture? What colour palette of the film is about and what is its significance for scenography and costumes? How does a film production designer look at the script in theory and practice?
The above answers were sought in a series of film workshops taken place at Radom Academy of Economics as part of All-Poland Summer Film Festival co-organized by our academy for the seventh time.
The workshops took place at Café Gallery at the seat of RAE and concerned the scenography and film costumes. Under the supervision of the person conducting the workshops, some art materials were created that can be used for further creative activities, for example, to make the film techniques of stop motions.
Scenograhy creates a certain kind of world surrounded by a certain mood. This world is built by the history and the pictures. A film operator is responsible for these pictures, but also a film production designer is responsible for scenography, the light and costumes. A very important aspect is reaching a mutual understanding of the set designer and an operator, a film director, a costumer. Everything is created as a result of mutual discussion and collaborative work.
The workshops met with great interest among people taking part in the following event. We would like to thank everyone that participated in the workshops and we would like to invite everyone to take part in upcoming summer film festival events.
