The probability of finding suitable unrelated donors for the patient is very difficult and is 1: 20,000 to 1: several million. The more potential donors to register, the more chances for the patients to recover from blood cancer.

The initiative was undertaken by Radom Academy of Economics students, who in partnership with the Water Voluntary Rescue Service held a registration for Potential Stem Cell Donors. Everyone that is interested in the following undertaking may come to our school in order to obtain some further information on becoming a donor, all necessary requirements that need to be fulfilled and any other information will be provided at our point.

A donor might be generally any healthy person between 18 and 55 years of age weighing not less than 50 kg and body mass index (BMI)not higher than 40.

Registration may take place just in a situation where there are no medical contraindications specified by the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health from March 12, 2010 . According to these regulations the donor cannot be a person that has experienced/had:

a) cardiac problems

b ) any types of cancer ( disease among family members are not excluded )
c ) Creutzfeldt –Jacob disease
d ) serious diseases of the nervous system ,
e) growth hormone treatment in the past - in the period before 1985 year
f) neurosurgical operations including the use of biological materials

g ) viral infection , bacterial , fungal , or parasitic infections , difficult to cure completely ,
h) HIV infection , HTLV viruses or hepatitis B and C ,
i) autoimmune disease not amenable to good control of the drug - for an individual determination ,
k) symptoms that may suggest a serious infectious diseases ,
l ) the transplant treatments  ,
m) inherited diseases of bones and blood
n) the transplantation of organs , such as kidneys, heart , skin, cornea , tire brain , liver .

A donor cannot be addicted to alcohol, drugs, and other medicines.
