Poland has been participating in the following programme since 1998/99. In 1995-2006, Erasmus was part of the Socrates Programme and since 2007/2008 has been part of the Lifelong Learning Programme which aims at improving its quality, standard, attractiveness and facilitating the international educational exchange.
A document entitling institutions of Higher Education to participate in the following programme is Erasmus University Charter which is a kind of a document that allows an institution to apply for funds that are used to cover the costs of particular actions taken as part of Erasmus Programme.
