5th of October was the day of the official inauguration at Radom Academy of Economics. The event took place at Auditrium at Traugutta street 61a and was attended by the acknowledged personas among which there were representatives of the political parties, the Municipal Police Department, the reserve colonel of pilots prof. Edmund Klich ph.D., as well as the president of Radom region.The ceremony would not be the same without the opening speech of the Rector and the Chancellor and the presence of the founders of our Academy who constantly strive for the success.
During the opening ceremony, the Rector prof. Elżbieta Kielska Ph.D., stressed a 16-year-old leadership of Radom Academy of Economics among other schools of higher education in Radom. Its success is mainly owed to the interesting and practical educational offer, the possibility of undertaking multiple trainings and internships both inside and outside Poland, different language and IT courses that can be completed, prestigious academic competitions such as “Leader Academy” and “Primus Inter Pares” where our students take the top places as well as varied academic events that are organized at our school for the benefit of our students.
The Rector’s speech was followed by the Chancellor prof. Gerard Paweł Maj who added that our Academy is not just recognized by Polish students, but also eagerly chosen by the international students who come as part of the Erasmus Programme, which means that Radom Academy of Economics is gaining an international recognition. Apart from the Erasmus students, the ceremony was also attended by the students from the east who are going to take up Bachelor’s courses at our Academy. The international audience at the inauguration ceremony adds to the special ambience that is present at our Academy that can proudly boast of its openness, tolerance and equality.
The event was coloured by the lecture given by the reserve colonel of pilots prof. Edmund Klich Ph.D., and related to the “Investigation of air accidents”. Apart from the common reasons of the airplane crashes, the audience could learn about the “Smoleńsk catastrophe” and has been introduced to the facts related to its unfortunate end. The lecture met with the public enthusiasm which listened to the lecture with great curiosity.
The words of welcome to over 60 Erasmus and eastern students were also not forgotten. The Dean of Strategic and Technical Faculty Prof. Radosław Okulski Ph.D. greeted the students and wished them gaining a very valuable experience and an enjoyable stay both at our Academy and Radom. He also read out the congratulation letters from the Rectors of Radom institutions, the President of Poland and many other distinguished people who wished us many prosperous and successful years.
The whole ceremony was maintained in a formal atmosphere after which the invited guests as well as the students enjoyed themselves during the banquet held in Café Gallery. The new academic year 2013/14 has just started and we would like to wish you a very memorable time at our Academy as well as many successes on a professional and academic level.
